Four of Poker’s Great Players
Literally huge amounts of players want to be the next "star" in poker, but here is a short list of four of the more famous "charming players" of poker. Even though "nice" is associated with their names when you are playing them it’s "no more Mr. Nice guy" until they have put you out of the competition!
Daniel Negreanu
In 2004, his tourney payouts amounted to in excess of four and a half million dollars and he captured 2 highly respected awards in the World Series of Poker Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tournament Player of the Year. In Feb Two Thousand and Six he was chosen Card Player’s Favourite Poker Player. Daniel still has the humility to talk with his fans about how they could boost their own game.
Howard Lederer
Known as "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker professional Annie Duke. His success has lead to him making an instructional video named "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also hosting a tournament poker show for Fox. As of 2005, his complete life winnings exceed $2.7 million.
Scotty Nguyen
Scott is one of the most active players in poker and from Two Thousand and Two Thousand and Four he ranked in the money in more than 100 competitions. He is notorious for saying "yeah baby" during poker games and also coined the phrase "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a exceptionally bad loss. As of 2006, his life time winnings are almost $6 million.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has earned 5 WSOP titles with two of his successes happening in Two Thousand and Three. Chris has the nickname "Jesus" as a result of his characteristic long hair and beard, and is able to toss playing cards fast enough to slice through pickles and bananas.
